Patna: Accusing Deputy Chief Minister
Sushil Kumar Modi of influencing the investigation into the
alleged sexual exploitation of a woman by slain Purnia MLA Raj
Kishore Keshri, the RJD on Saturday demanded Modi`s resignation.
RJD spokesman Shakil Ahmad Khan said an independent
investigation by police was impossible in the light of Modi
giving clean chit to the slain BJP MLA on the allegation of
sexual exploitation by the woman, Rupam Pathak, who was
charged with stabbing Keshri to death.
"Modi has tried to influence the course of
investigation by describing the accused as a blackmailer and
mentally unfit. He should resign immediately," Khan said.
Asking chief minister Nitish Kumar to break his
silence over the murder of the MLA, Khan demanded a CBI probe
in the case.
Keshri was stabbed to death in public view at his
residence in Purnia on January 4 by Pathak, who had earlier
accused him of sexual harassment. However, she had withdrawn
the case later.
