BJP to stir from Sept 18 for free foodgrain

Patna: BJP will launch a week-long
agitation from Septmeber 18 to force the UPA Government to
comply with the Supreme Court order for free distribution of
foodgrains stored in godowns among the poor.

"The BJP has decided to organise a country-wide stir
from September 18 to 24 to put pressure on the Centre to
ensure free distribution of foodgrains to the poor people in
compliance with the Supreme Court order," BJP General
Secretary Anath Kumar said.

The people have been feeling pinch of price rise, but
the prime minister and agriculture minister had been opposing
the apex court`s recent order for free distribution of
foodgrains, he said.
