BJP trying to break JD(U)-Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar: Congress

The BJP is "scared" of the JD(U)-Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar and wants to "break" it to derive political mileage in that state, an AICC functionary said here on Saturday.

Jamshedpur: The BJP is "scared" of the JD(U)-Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar and wants to "break" it to derive political mileage in that state, an AICC functionary said here on Saturday.

"An anti-Modi wave is developing across the country and so BJP is scared to face the coming assembly polls in Bihar ...Now BJP is trying all ways to break the JD(U)-Congress-RJD alliance," AICC spokesman Ajay Kumar said.

BJP, he alleged, was pressurising an RJD MP, who is under CBI scanner in connection with the coal scam, for the job.

Kumar, a former MP from Jamshedpur, however, refused to divulge the MP's name saying the issue was already out in a section of the media.

The Congress leader replied in positive when asked about the possibility of continuation of RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance in the Bihar polls.

"There is no harm in contesting the Bihar assembly poll under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is a good administrator.

"Not only RJD-JD(U)-Congress, we want all like-minded parties including the Left parties who are opposed to policies of the Modi-government to come on a platform and contest the election unitedly," Kumar said.

On RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for the top post in Bihar, the Congress leader said he was facing some legal problem but did not elaborate.

On the issue of seat sharing among the allies including Congress, Kumar said the party would certainly have a decent share.

"We still have three-four months time left for the poll and the seat sharing issue can be sorted out. But the most important thing we need to do is to reach at an internal agreement among the constituent parties before making it public.

"We (the allies) should finalise the seat sharing issue internally before announcing it as we still have three to four months time for the poll," he said.
