Patna: BJP`s youth wing, Bhartiya Janta Yuva
Morcha (BJYM) today accused the Centre of failing to contain
violence and stone pelting in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded
immediate revocation of Article 370, that gives special status
to the state.

"The incidents of violence and stone pelting are occurring
in Jammu and Kashmir for the past six months ... The Kashmir
problem is a historic blunder of the Congress and the whole
nation is paying the price of its consequences," BJYM
national president and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said here.

"The root cause of the problem is Article 370," he said
demanding its revocation.

Thakur is leading the Kolkata-to-Kashmir Rashtriya Ekta
Yatra to unfurl the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on
January 26 after a gap of 18 years. The yatra started on
National Youth Day on January 12 and resumed during the day
after reaching here yesterday.

He questioned Congress` "silence" over the situation in
Jammu and Kashmir. "Seeking to prevent one from unfurling the
national flag should be treated as disrespect," he said.

He asked Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi to
give his reactions, as the youth wanted to hear from him about
the problem.

"There is an urgent need to allay the mistrust created
among the Kashmiris due to wrong policies of Omar Abdullah and
the Congress governments," he claimed.

Thakur said the yatra had evoked "overwhelming" response
from the people and hoped it would get a "massive response" in
the Kashmir Valley. "The yatra will strengthen the country
and we want to prove that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari India is
one," he said.

Referring to JD(U) national president Sharad Yadav`s
reported statement that the programme was by BJP and that
NDA had nothing to do with it, he said, Yadav will not oppose
it once he comes to know of its objective.

The yatra is aimed at creating harmony and brotherhood
among the people and will be a milestone for the integrity and
unity of the nation and "I hope Yadav will understand it
gradually," Thakur said.
