BSP begins finalising candidates for Bihar elections

Bahujan Samaj Party, which has decided to fight alone in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, today began the process of finalising its candidates for the polls.

"The BSP supremo held a meeting with senior office
bearers of the party`s Bihar unit and has a detailed
discussion in the wake of forthcoming assembly elections in
the state," a party spokesman said here.

Mayawati said that the BSP had its representation in
the Bihar House from the last several years and this time the
party would go all alone in the Assembly elections.

"BSP would emerge as a strong political power in Bihar
in the forthcoming elections to resolve the problems of the
people of the state," she said in a statement.

She directed the office-bearers to strengthen party`s
base in the state.

"As Bihar is adjacent to UP, BSP base has increased
considerably and keeping in view the current scenario there
is a strong possibility party getting good success in the
assembly polls," the Chief Minister said.

The BSP supremo also directed leaders and workers to
propagate party`s policies and programmes in Bihar, besides
highlighting the UP government`s decisions taken in the
interest of all sections of the society.

Leaders of Bihar unit informed Mayawati that party
workers were enthusiastic and it will emerge as a strong
political power in the state.
