Case lodged against Manjhi for casting aspersion on judiciary

A court in Bihar's Samastipur district Thursday ordered the police to lodge an FIR against Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for allegedly casting aspersion on the judicial process.

Samastipur: A court in Bihar's Samastipur district Thursday ordered the police to lodge an FIR against Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for allegedly casting aspersion on the judicial process.

 First Class Judicial Magistrate Atul Kumar Singh passed the order directing Chakmehsi police station to file an FIR against Manjhi under relevant provisions of law for allegedly casting aspersion on the judicial process, while hearing a complaint case filed by Ravishankar Chaudhary through his counsel Sanjay Singh on January 12 last.

 Chaudhary, a native of Namapur Dariya village under Chakmehsi police station, had lodged a complaint case in the district court against the chief minister on the basis of a speech made by the latter at Hati village sometime back in which he had rued that the poor people don't get justice.

     The petitioner had filed a complaint case (no. 5915) in the district court on January 12 which was taken up for hearing by the first class judicial magistrate today.
