Patna: Senior JD(U) leader Uday Narain Choudhary is tipped to be elected speaker of Bihar state assembly on December 2.

Talking to reporters, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that Choudhary would be the NDA`s candidate for the post of the new speaker of the house.
With this, Choudhary`s election to the post becomes a mere formality on December 2 in the wake of the NDA pulling off a landslide victory in the recently concluded elections, winning 206 of the 243 assembly seats.
Choudhary, five time MLA from Islamganj in Bihar`s Gaya district, was the Speaker of the house for five years since November 2005.
