personnel went to the village following reports of communal
tension over passage of a religious procession from near a

Though the tension eased following mutual cooperation
among locals, the officials with police force who reached

river Gandak due to incessant rains for the past over 72
hours.

"We have called National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)
teams from Patna and Gopalganj to evacuate the marooned people
and policemen, besides civil officials to safe places", they
said adding the evecuation exercise will be completed by
tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, the state water resources department today
sounded alert in Kosi and Mithila belts being criss-crossed by
several rivers in the wake of heavy downpour during the last
72 hours.
