Patna: Congress will go it alone in the coming
Bihar Assembly polls for which party general secretary Rahul
Gandhi has already kicked off the election campaign.

"We have been ready since long for contesting the Assembly
polls on our own, state Congress chief spokesman Prem Chandra
Mishra told reporters here today.

Gandhi had visited the state on Saturday and Congress
state elections committee would meet here on September 11 to
decide on the electoral strategy for the 243 seats.

Asked about the party`s chief ministerial candidate,
Mishra said Congress does not have the tradition of declaring
the name before the elections.

"In fact, we are going to the polls with the active
support and guidance of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and
Rahul Gandhi, besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh," he said,
adding Bihar PCC chief Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser would lead
the campaign.

Youths would be given due consideration in the allotment
of tickets keeping in view Rahul Gandhi`s dream of
establishing a government of youths in Bihar, he added.
