Congress, BJP hand-in-glove: Lalu

RJD president Lalu Prasad Thursday said voting for the Congress in the coming Bihar Assembly election would mean voting for the BJP.

Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad Thursday said voting for the Congress in the coming Bihar Assembly election would mean voting for the BJP.

``To vote for the Congress will mean vote for the BJP and thereby helping and strengthening hands of VHP leader Togadia and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi... People should be cautious about it,`` Prasad told reporters.

Prasad alleged that the Congress and BJP were `hand in glove and trying to swallow other parties`.

``Both Congress and BJP are hand in glove which is evident from their stand on the Women`s Reservation Bill... their sinister design is to swallow the small and regional
parties gradually,`` he said during induction of senior JD-U leader Reyazul Haue Raju into his party.

Prasad said the contribution of Congress towards the uplift of minorities in India was `negligible` during the past 63 years.
``What happened to the ATR on the Babri Masjid Demolition case... where is the report of the Sachar Commission and Ranganath Mishra Commission for bettering the
lot of minorities?`` Prasad asked.

He said Congress was a `non-entity` in Bihar and its design to woo muslims would fall flat.
Referring to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar`s recent meeting with senior RJD MP Jagdanand Singh at Kaimur recently, Prasad said Singh was `a trusted man` of his party and he would continue to be with the RJD.
