Patna: The District Statistics Officer (DSO)
was arrested by the state Vigilance Bureau in Bihar`s Saharsa district Thursday, officials said.
Acting on a complaint, a vigilance team headed by Deputy
Superintendent of Police S K Sharma raided the office of
Ravindra Kumar, the District Statistics Officer, in Saharsa
and trapped him red-handed accepting bribe of Rs 18,000,
sources said.
Vakil Ahmad had lodged a complaint with the bureau
against the DSO alleging that Kumar had demanded a bribe for
clearance of dues of the vehicles hired for the purpose of
official works in Saharsa, they said.
He was being brought here for production before the court
of a special vigilance judge.
