DySP held on fraud charge in Bihar

A police official, in the rank of Deputy Superintendent, was on Wednesday arrested from his official residence in Bihar.

Patna: A police official, in the rank of Deputy Superintendent, was on Wednesday arrested from his official residence in Bihar capital following a non-bailable arrest warrant issued in connection with a case of money withdrawal by using the ATM card of an accused.
ADG (Vigilance) P K Thakur said a vigilance team
raided the Bailey Road house of the official C P Paswan,
currently on waiting for posting, and arrested him.

Paswan has been charged with fraud by withdrawing
money through the ATM card of an arrested person earlier and
the plastic card has since been seized by the vigilance team,
Thakur said.

According to the charges, the DSP withdrew Rs two lakh
by the ATM card of the Manager of State Food Corporation (SFC)
Manoj Kumar, who was caught red-handed while accepting bribe
in Vaishali in August last.
Soon after his arrest, Paswan was produced before a
vigilance court here which remanded him to judicial custody
till December 3.

The court had on November 18 issued the non-bailable
warrant against the DySP (Vigilance) in the case registered by
the bureau.
