'Expelled' Pappu Yadav attacks Lalu over show cause notice, says will take legal action if required

Patna: A day after ousted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav was issued a show cause notice for his alleged anti-party activities, the Madhepura MP said on Friday that he has written to the Election Commission and have sought an explanation into the matter. He also rubbished the show cause notice sent to him by the party leadership and threatened to resort to legal action if required.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Pappu Yadav said, “I had already written to EC, if Mulayam ji has been elected as the party president, how can Lalu ji send me show cause notice?”

He further said, “I will have a word with Mulayam ji, will also take legal course of action if required.”

He also launched a blistering attack on RJD president Lalu Yadav, saying he was the biggest enemy of the backward communities.

“Lalu Yadav is the biggest enemy of Yadavs and backward communities in this country (Yadavo ka, pichhdon ka agar koi sabsa bada dushman iss desh mein hai to wo Lalu yadav),” he said.

RJD National Principal General Secretary Ramdeo Bhandari issued the notice to Pappu Yadav yesterday.

Besides accusing Pappu Yadav of acting against policies of the RJD, the notice also charged him with issuing statement against party chief Lalu Prasad.

Yadav also allegedly used photo of Prasad without permission in the programmes of Yuva Shakti, an organisation set up by him, with which RJD has no links, as per the notice.

Yadav recently raised the issue of who will succeed Prasad, to which the party chief said bluntly none but his son would be his heir.

The notice also asked the MP why a disciplinary action will not be initiated against him for anti-party activities and gave him 15 days time to reply.

Yesterday, the RJD also expelled Pappu Yadav for six years after he backed former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

His attack on Lalu and Mulayam was the result of the former's daughter Raj Lakshmi's marriage to the latter's grandnephew Tej Pratap earlier this year.
