Extortion case against Nitish Kumar`s party MLA Anant Singh

In a major embarrassment for Bihar`s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a case of extortion has been lodged against his close aide and party Janata Dal (U) MLA Anant Singh in Patna.

Patna: In a major embarrassment for Bihar`s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a case of extortion has been lodged against his party Janata Dal (U) MLA Anant Singh in Patna.

Reports on Tuesday claimed that the case against Singh was lodged following a complaint by a builder in SK Puri Police station that the JD-U MLA demanded 12 crores from him.
Singh is believed to be a close aide of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and has several criminal cases lodged against him.
In February, the 52-year-old JD-U MLA had to face humiliation and and vacate an open space in front of his plus hotel that he attempted to encroach upon in Patna`s posh Patliputra colony.

Singh was also booked for assaulting a TV news reporter Prakash Singh who had gone to his residence in Patna six years back to seek his comments in connection with the murder case of a woman.
