Patna: Asserting that the fight for special status for Bihar has reached `a decisive stage`, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said faster development of the backward state would help the country achieve inclusive growth.
"If people in Delhi hear us this will help the country achieve inclusive growth," Kumar who would be the star speaker at Sunday`s JD(U) rally in the national capital, told reporters here.

Elated by the economic survey in principle upholding Bihar`s demand and Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram also talking on similar lines, Kumar said this has rekindled the hope of the state winning special status to spur economic growth.

Stating that the rally held great importance for the state, he said that grant of special status to a backward state like Bihar would help other states with similar conditions.

Kumar said the people of Bihar would make the Centre hear their genuine demand for special status.

He said that Bihar lagged behind in all important indices like low energy consumption and low average of rail and road connectivity.

Kumar would reach Delhi tomorrow while many JD(U) ministers, parliamentarians and legislators were already camping there and holding street corner meetings and interacting with the people.
