Gaya (Bihar): Five persons allegedly
involved in recent attack on the house of a Mahadalit were
arrested on Thursday from Kanchanpur village in Mohanpur police
station in Bihar's Gaya district, a senior police official
said.
City Superintendent of Police, Ratnamani Sanjeev said
those arrested were wanted in connection with the attack on
the house of a Mahadalit at Kanchanpur village on July 10.
They had also beaten up three villagers, who were
being treated at Anugraha Narayan Medical College and Hospital
here, Sanjeev said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the village and
arrested the five accused, he said.
The police found two country-made pistols, one sixer,
and seven rounds of cartridges from them.
