Flood situation eases in Bihar

The overall flood situation in Bihar on Tuesday eased with water level of major rivers like the Kosi and the Bagmati receding.

Kosi and the Bagmati receding.
Bagmati was flowing just six cm above the danger mark
in Bnibad, while it was flowing below the danger level all
along its course, according to Central Water Commission.

Kosi was flowing just one cm above the red mark at
Basua, while water level of all other rivers, including Sone,
Gandak, Kamala Balan and Adhwara group of rivers continued to
flow below the red mark along their course in the state, CWC
report said.
Two persons have so far lost their lives in the recent
spell of floods in Bihar caused by heavy monsoon rains.

Hundreds of villagers took shelter in different
areas in Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, West Champaran and Sitamarhi
districts following floods inundating their villages during
the past two days.
