Motihari: Four persons were killed and six other members of a marriage party injured when a bus rammed into a pickup van on a highway in East Champaran district of Bihar in the early hours of Friday.
A marriage party returning from Chakwara village to Hardiyabad met with the accident at Mahua village on National Highway 28 when a bus coming from the opposite direction dashed against the pickup van killing four persons on the spot, police said.
Of the six injured, the condition of three persons was stated to be serious.
Those killed were identified as Dhanraj Ram(35), Bachan Rai(55), Lalbabu Ram(30) and a child Arbind Kumar(12).
While the seriously injured persons were sent to Srikrishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur, the others were being treated in a local refferal hospital, the police said.
The driver of the bus fled after the accident, the police said.
