Girl allegedly commits suicide after failing in Board exam

Motihari: Apparently depressed after failing in matriculation examination, a girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in a village in Bihar`s East Champaran district, police sources said on Thursday.

The girl, identified as Rinki Kumari (about 16 years) allegedly consumed poisonous substance at her house last night apparently in a state of depression after getting to know that she had failed matriculation examination, the sources said.

After finding her battling for life, her family members took her to a local hospital where the attending doctors referred her to the Sadar hospital, but she died on way, they said.

An autopsy was carried out on the body that confirmed her death due to unnatural reasons.

A case of Unnatural Death (UD) has been lodged at Sugauli police station on the basis of statement of the victim`s father Rajendra Ram, the sources added.
