Hisar: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said that gymnasiums would be set up in every village for the development of youngsters.
"Since our country dwells in the village, development of villages is one of the priorities of the state government," Khattar said at a function in Khanda Kheri village here.
In this regard, he said gymnasiums would be set up on two acres of land in every village where all facilities would be provided to the youngsters.
Khattar also invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana', saying similar programme has been started in the state also.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi intends to provide every facility in villages which is necessary for the development of people. He took the initiative with the 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' under which every MP would adopt one village in his constituency for development," he said.
On the same pattern, a scheme has been started under which every MLA will adopt one village for development, he said.
"If every empowered social servant and industrialist adopts one village each and tries to meet its requirements, every village would become a model village," he said.
The Chief Minister said that today is the era of information technology and most of the work could be done sitting at home.
"I have a dream that every village should have a secretariat, where all village level works would be done and records be maintained. The secretariat would have record of every child since birth. Research for this project is underway," he said.
He disclosed that the panchayat of Ugalan village had offered to donate land for a girls' college and soon it would be set up there.
Khattar earlier laid the foundation stone for a herbal park in Khanda Kheri village which would be set up at a cost of Rs 15 crore. About 50 varieties of medicinal plants would be sown in this park to promote Ayurveda.
The state government wants to add a new chapter in the field of health by adding Allopathy and Ayurveda, he said.
