Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi
Saturday said Anna Hazare`s `crusade` had evoked widespread
support from the people and had virtually agitated and created
a turmoil in the people`s psyche against corruption.
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of a function
organised by SC/ST Welfare Department, he said Anna`s fast had
created an atmosphere similar to that in 1974.
"Anna received similar type of support for his crusade
against corruption as by Jayaprakash Narayan during the 1974
students` movement+, he said.
Expressing concern over Anna`s health, Modi said it was
a matter of great relief that the veteran social activist had
decided to break his indefinite fast.
The Bihar government was firm in its resolve against
corruption, he added.
