I belong to pro-Advani camp: Shatrughan Sinha

New Delhi: Marginalised in BJP, MP Shatrughan Sinha Friday said his sidelining by the party leadership was possibly because he "belonged to pro-Advani camp".

Sinha, a MP from Patna Sahib, said he was hurt at not being given an important role in the NDA campaign in Bihar polls.

He also heaped praise on Nitish Kumar, calling him one of the best chief ministers in the country and said friendship was not party-bound.

Asked whether he was sidelined within the party because he was seen siding with L K Advani during the prime ministerial race in BJP before the Lok Sabha elections, he told 'India Today' "May be I am being targeted because I belong to pro-Advani camp".

He also added that he was reminded of the title of Anupam Kher's show 'Kuchh bhi ho sakta hai'. "So in politics anything is possible", he said while asserting that he was popular and can contest even as an Independent and win the election, in an apparent dare to the party leadership.

Sinha has been defying the party line over a host of issues for some months; whether by praising Kumar time and again or expressing his unhappiness over the suspension of Congress MPs from Lok Sabha. He has though insisted that he has never crossed the BJP's 'lakshman rekha'.
