Patna: Ruling JD (U) in Bihar, on Friday accused RJD Chief Lalu Prasad of 'defaming' the state by his party's reluctance to vacate the space allotted to it in Parliament.
A large space had been allotted by the erstwhile UPA I government at the Centre, when RJD was its biggest ally.
''RJD's protest over vacating the room now alloted to Trinamool Congress(TC) and shifting to a smaller space marked for its 8 MPs is unwarranted and unjustified ... It doesn't speak well for a politician of standing like Prasad,'' JD(U) chief spokesman Sanjay Singh said.
TC with 26 MPs is now UPA's biggest ally and was entitled to a better space, he said.
It would have been better, if Prasad had utilised his energy for helping in the development of the state, Singh added.
''We will not vacate the room. We will fight for it,'' RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had said.
