Patna: The ruling Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday said it will implement the Bihar model of development if the party is voted to power in other states.

State unit president Vashistha Narayan Singh said at a party function here that the NDA government headed by Nitish Kumar provided good governance in Bihar for past six years and changed the perception of people towards the state.

He further said the party will contest the coming Assembly polls in five states and seek mandate on the agenda to replicate its performance in Bihar.

On contesting polls in Uttar Pradesh and other four states alone, Singh said it was not for the first time the party and ally BJP were contesting the polls separately and stressed that absence of a tie-up in these states will not affect their relations in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar and other ministers will campaign for JD(U) candidates in the poll-bound states, but their schedule was yet to be finalised, Singh said. Meanwhile, police officer Shridhar Mandal and RJD youth wing general secretary Dhruv Kumar Budhpriya today joined the party here.
