Patna: Janata Dal (U) Wednesday suspended two rebel MPs from the party for six years following their anti-party activities, a senior official said.
The decision to suspend Jainarayan Nishad and Purnamasi Ram was taken by JD(U) national president Sharad Yadav considering their persistent anti-party activities, Bihar JD(U) chief Bashistha Narayan Singh said.
Nishad is JD(U) Lok Sabha member from Muzaffarpur while Ram represents Gopalganj (Reserved) seat in the lower house, in Bihar.
Party sources said that the MPs have been regularly attacking Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and gravitating towards BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Nishad had lend his Delhi house for organising `havan` for Modi and also met BJP Gujarat President Rajendra Rupala, sources said.
Ram, who had moved from RJD to JD(U), had recently described Nitish Kumar as "Hitler" and praised Modi.
On speaking on the conviction of Lalu Prasad yesterday, Ram had described the RJD chief as innocent and said that Nitish Kumar would also face the same fate in CBI`s next hearing on November 22.
Incidentally, last week the JD(U) had shown door to rebel party MLA Cheddi Paswan, who had met Narendra Modi at Gandhinagar.
