JD(U) silences critics, downplays reports of Lalu's interference in Bihar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earlier alleged that Lalu was acting as the `Super CM` of Bihar.

New Delhi: Asserting that the Nitish Kumar government is functioning in an effective manner, the Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday attempted to downplay the row over Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav`s interference in the state of affairs in Bihar and said that false and baseless stories were being circulated by the opposition.

"It is all wrong. When there are no issues, they are spreading such stories. The government (in Bihar) is functioning properly. All these allegations are baseless," JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav told ANI.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earlier alleged that Lalu was acting as the `Super CM` of Bihar following his instruction to the civil surgeon of Darbhanga district to reinstate four contractual workers whose services had been discontinued.

The issue came to light after civil surgeon Dr Sriram Singh wrote a letter to the medical superintendent of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Monday and sought immediate reinstatement of Mamata workers while referring to instructions from Lalu.Mamata workers are hired on contract and deputed in maternity wards.
