Patna: Fifteen people were killed on Tuesday when lightning struck them during heavy rains in Bihar`s Rohtas, Aurangabad, Nawada and Sheikhpura districts, officials said.
Four persons, including two girls, were fatally struck by lightning in Rajabigha village, while another person died in a similar incident in Vishunpur village in Aurangabad district, they said.
Three children, aged between 12 and 13, died after a lightning struck a tree under which they had taken refuge to save themselves from heavy rains in Redia village in Rohtas district, Block Development Officer S K Jaiswal said.
A 40-year-old man was fatally struck by lightning at Lewra village in Rohtas district, he said.
Three persons each in Nawada and Sheikhpura districts died in similar cases, officials said.
