New Delhi: The LJP on Saturday accused Bihar
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of "showcasing" the state`s
poverty during the visit of Microsoft chief Bill Gates there.
"Kumar is first making the state poorer and then
showcasing its poverty to outsiders. It`s a matter of shame.
Why Bill Gates should adopt any village there. What the state
government is doing. By doing this, the Bihar Chief Minister
has maligned the image of the state," party chief Ram Vilas
Paswan told reporters here.
He was reacting to reports that Gates` organisation
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation would adopt Gularia village
in Khagaria district of Bihar.
Paswan claimed Kumar was doing his own marketing in
the name of developing Bihar.
He also accused the Bihar chief minister of dividing
the state on caste lines. "He has divided Bihar in the name
of caste as no Chief Minister in the past did," Paswan said.
"All secular parties including Congress should come to
together to oust this government," he said maintaining that
his alliance with Lalu Prasad`s RJD was unshakeable.
"We should not have fought Lok Sabha election
separately. I am in favour of all secular parties fighting the
election together. But it also depends on Congress," he said.
