Patna: LJP on Saturday urged the Election
Commission to take strict action against Chief Minister Nitish
Kumar and his deputy S K Modi for allegedly putting party
hoardings on electricity poles and government buildings in
various constituencies in the state.
"Throwing the provisions for model code for elections
to the winds, Kumar and Modi have got several hoardings with
their photographs and party symbols fixed on electricity poles
and government places in several assembly constituencies in
the state," a delegation of LJP leaders which met the Chief
Elctoral Officer here said.
Stating that the Commission had "overlooked" the
glaring instances of violation of the model code of conduct by
Kumar and Modi, they demaned strict action against them.
The five-member delegation of the party which
submitted a memorandum to the Chief electoral Officer S K
Rakesh, was headed by its General Secretary Dr Satyanand
Sharma.
