Maoist operative held in Bihar's Naxal-hit Sheohar

A Maoist operative was arrested on Sunday from a village under Tariyani police station area in Bihar's Naxal-hit Sheohar district, a police officer said.

Sheohar: A Maoist operative was arrested on Sunday from a village under Tariyani police station area in Bihar's Naxal-hit Sheohar district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the police raided Tariyani-Chapra village and nabbed the Maoist, identified as Gulam Mustafa, while he was extorting from a panchayat head, Tariyani police station in-charge A K Singh said.

A resident of Pararia village under Belsand police station in neighbouring Sitamarhi district, Mustafa was wanted in several Maoist-related incidents like murder, dacoity and extortion, Singh added.
