Armed Maoists set on fire eight vehicles, including one of a Circle Officer, in Bihar`s three districts during their protest on the rape of a woman cadre in a prison.

Motihari: Armed Maoists on Monday set on fire eight vehicles, including one of a Circle Officer, in Bihar`s three districts during their protest on the rape of a woman cadre in a prison in Sitamarhi district allegedly by its superintendent last week.

Armed Maoists, said to be about 20 in number, set on fire two tankers and a coal-laden truck on NH-28 near Dumariaght bridge on river Gandak in East Champaran district late last night, Superintendent of Police, Operation, Sanjay Kumar Singh said.

A report from Vaishali district said that about a dozen armed Maoists set on fire a bus and a truck on NH-77 in Ashadpur-Satpura village in wee hours, Superintendent of Police Upendra Kumar Sinha said.
In Sitamarhi district, about six Maoists intercepted the Circle Officer Anil Panjiar`s vehicle on Singarahia bridge near Basantpur-Riga state highway on Sheohar-Sitarmhi border and set it on fire, Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar said.
