Patna: A highly condemnable video of a 16-year-old Dalit student being brutally thrashed by two other students in a classroom in a government school in Bihar's Muzaffarpur has gone viral on the Internet.
The shocking video shows a meritorious Dalit student being brutally beaten up by two students, who are brothers and sons of a notorious local criminal.
After staying mum for sometime, the boy shown in the video had narrated his ordeal to the media in which he said that he was beaten every day by the two boys.
One of the two is his classmate, while the other is a junior.
The victim is the son of a teacher, who lives in a nearby village with his two younger daughters. The boy lives with his maternal grandmother in Muzaffarpur and studies in a government school there.
Since the boy is a front-bencher and exceptionally good in academics, this has infuriated the two boys from the upper caste, who have been abusing him for the past two years.
The two boys used to spit on his face, he claimed. The poor boy even approached his teachers for help but they said the boys' father is a powerful criminal, so the school could not take action against them.
The boy also feared for the safety of his family and kept quite. However, when his maternal grandfather came across the video, he filed a police case.
The video was shot by one of his classmates, who shot it at the behest of the two boys who thrashed him mercilessly in the classroom for ''pleasure''.
In the video, the two boys can be seen hitting the teenager in his head, kicking, slapping and pushing him to the wall.
He has now appealed to the Nitish Kumar government in the state for help.
