MLA murder accused fear threat to life

Rupam Pathak and Nawlesh Pathak, accused in the Purnia BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari murder case alleged that there was a conspiracy to murder them inside their cells.

Purnia: Rupam Pathak and Nawlesh Pathak, accused in the Purnia BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari murder case on Tuesday alleged that there was a conspiracy to murder them inside their cells in the central prison here.

``There is a conspiracy hatched by some powerful people to kill us,`` the two told mediapersons outside the local court here.

They, however, did not elaborate.
Nawlesh urged mediapersons to give `due coverage` to the threat on his life as well as that of Rupam so that their security and safety could be ensured.

Earlier, Rupam Pathak who allegedly knifed the MLA to death and Nawlesh Pathak, charged with conspiracy in the case were produced before the chief judicial magistrate D L Prasad who extended their judicial remand till January 30 next.
Meanwhile, a petition filed by Rupam`s advocate seeking the court`s direction for her treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital was deferred for hearing by the court till tomorrow.

Keshari was stabbed to death allegedly by Rupam Pathak at his residence here on January 4.
