Mob sets police station afire in Bihar

An irate mob on Tuesday set on fire a police station while protesting against a trader`s murder in Bihar`s Kaimur district even as police opened fire on the protesters injuring one of them, official sources said.

on fire a police station while protesting against a trader`s
murder in Bihar`s Kaimur district even as police opened fire
on the protesters injuring one of them, official sources said.

During their agitation against yesterday`s murder,
the mob vented their ire on Mohania police station by setting
it on fire and burning 10 vehicles, including a police jeep,
the sources said.

The protesters also pelted stones on the vehicle of
the Superintendent of Police Umashankar Singh Sudhansu.

Sensing that the situation was getting out of control,
the policemen opened fire on the crowd injuring Sonu Jaiswal,
they said.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in
Mohania township to maintain law and order, the sources added.

Details of the damage at the police station is yet to
be ascertained.
