Patna: A second person has been arrested in the molestation of a woman passenger of an express train, who jumped off to save herself and was injured in the head and legs in Bihar`s Bhojpur district.
The second alleged molester, Dinesh Kumar, has been arrested from Buxar, Inspector General of Police, Rail, Vinay Kumar told a news agency today.
Kumar was a friend of army man, Ramesh Kumar, from Himachal Pradesh who was caught by an Assam Rifles man yesterday, Rail Superintendent of Police Suresh Chaudhary said.
He clarified that Kumar was also suspected to be an army-man, but was found to be a driver working in Patna.
Kumar had come to see off his friend at the Patna junction yesterday, but also boarded the train and was involved in molesting the 30-year-old woman from Darjeeling, the SP said.
Meanwhile, the victim was shifted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital late last night from the Ara Sadar Hospital where she was taken on a stretcher from the track near Jagjivan Ram halt where she had jumped off the Up Dibrugarh-Delhi Brahmaputra Express.
The CT scan and X-ray reports on her were normal, attending doctor at the PMCH J P Gupta, told the agency.
He said no evidence of rape was found.
The Railway IG said that the victim`s relatives were arriving from Darjeeling in neighbouring West Bengal.
The victim told reporters at the hospital that she was a mother of two and her husband was a tailor.
She declined when asked to narrate what had happened. Member of Patna Women Helpline, Pramila Kumari, who went to the hospital to counsel the victim was told that she was from Chor Bazar in Goom in Darjeeling.
"The victim is unable to speak coherently about her ordeal. She was provided counselling to overcome her fear of the incident," Kumari said.
The victim was travelling in the AC three tier B-1 coach and did not have a confirmed ticket and was sitting on the TT`s berth when the molesters targeted her.
Two Firs have been lodged, one each at Ara and Buxar, at GRP police stations.
