Monsoon arrives in Bihar, Jharkhand

The much-awaited South-Western monsoon arrived in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Patna: The much-awaited South-Western monsoon arrived in Bihar and Jharkhand to bring a sigh of relief to the people battling severe heat wave for the past two days as moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded in some districts of the state, a met official said on Tuesday.

The conditions are favourable for further advance of the monsoon in remaining parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next two to three days, Met Director D C Gupta said.

The districts like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Ranchi, Supaul, Bhagalpur, Arwal and Munger districts recorded moderate to heavy rainfall, Gupta said, adding that Arwal district registered the highest rainfall at 110 mm.

Ranchi, Jamshedpur airport and Jamshedpur city in neighbouring Jharkhand also registered rains, he said.
