Banka: Police and central para-military
forces on Saturday destroyed a Maoist bunker in Banka district of
Bihar even as the ultras managed to escape.
Acting on specific information that the Maoists were
taking shelter in the bunker in Birma village, police and
para-military forces encircled the bunker and asked them to
surrender, Superintendent of Police Shyam Kumar told reporters
The naxalites, however, manged to escape but left behind
two rifles looted from the police earlier, one 9 MM regular
pistol of foreign-make, 100 cartridges of different bores,
three country made pistols and ammunition, one cane bomb
