Patna: Oppostion RJD Thursday flayed the NDA
government in Bihar for its alleged failure to promote trade and industries during six years in power and demanded a white paper to substantiate its claim in this regard.
There has been no worthwhile industrial development in
the state despite NDA government`s promise to bring in private
investment in the industrial sector ahead of its election to power in 2005, RJD (trader front) president Vinod Shankar Parashar and the party`s chief whip in the legislative council Ramchandra Prasad told reporters.
The state government should issue a white paper detailing its achievements in the industrial sector `if it has
any`, they said.
The RJD leaders claimed that the business activities too
have taken a hit due to the public sector banks` apathy in providing loans to traders despite Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi`s repeated pleas to financial institutions.
They attacked the government for the alleged deteriorating law and order and claimed that there was a spate
in crimes like murder, loot, abduction of businessman during
the NDA rule.
The RJD leaders demanded that the government should set
up a traders` welfare commission to cater to the aspirations
of the business community.
