Patna: The LJP today accused the Nitish
Kumar government of "conspiring" to deprive poor and Dalits of their voting rights and urged the Election Commission to take necessary steps to ensure their participation in the polls.

"We have definite information that 30 per cent of the
EPICs distributed among the voters here for the 2010 Assembly polls are fake... and NDA is behind it," an LJP delegation-led by its state president Pashupati Kumar Paras complained to the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar.

Later, Paras said the state`s NDA government had
"conspired" with the officials of its choice in the district
to deprive Dalits and poor of their voting rights by forging
EPICS.

"We submitted a petition to the Commission seeking to
take necessary steps to ensure that no poor and Dalits,
besides other sections of the society are deprived of their
fundamental right to vote," he added.
