Nitish govt is 'hopeless': Ravi Shankar Prasad

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Sunday that the JD(U) government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was a "hopeless one".

Patna: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Sunday that the JD(U) government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was a "hopeless one".

"This Nitish Kumar government is a hopeless one. The state is suffering from an increase in crime and corruption," Prasad told reporters here.

Union Telecom and IT Minister said that Kumar was chosen the Chief Ministerial candidate of the JD(U)-RJD alliance because RJD chief Lalu Prasad cannot become a CM due to his conviction for five years by a CBI court in the fodder scam case.

"Neither his (lalu's) family members are ready for the post."

"This is the truth behind the utterances of Laluji that he drank poison to nominate Kumar as the Chief Ministerial candidate," Prasad said.

The Union Minister added that the public of the state will vote for NDA in the coming assembly elections to ensure a change in the state.
