Gopalganj: Apparently seeking to woo the
minority community in the forthcoming assembly polls, Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar today said that the Madrasa Board will
get back its power to grant recognition to educational
institutions run by Muslim seminaries in the state.
The NDA government will restore the powers of the
Madrasa Board stripped by the Rabri Devi government in 1994 to
grant recognition to educational institutions being run by
Muslim seminaries, he announced at a public meeting at
Kaparpura village in Gopalganj district.
Kumar also said that the state government will arrange
for setting up branches of Talimi Markaz in Muslim-dominant
areas and others institutions in other parts of the state to
ensure that the children belonging to the minority community
went to school..
The Chief Minister, undertaking the ninth-phase of his
`Vishwas Yatra` to review the performance of the NDA
government, took a dig at his arch rival RJD chief Lalu Prasad
for `dreaming` about returning to power in the state.
"(The RJD and Lalu Prasad), which had ruined the state
during its 15 year-long rule are now dreaming about getting
back to power in Bihar ... but the dream will remain
illusory," Kumar said.
Stating that the state was making rapid progress and
recorded a growth rate of 11 per cent, he said, the kidnapping
industry` and communal riots were a thing of the past as the
NDA government has restored law and order and fostered
communal amity in the state.
