Nitish Kumar orders suspension of Nawada OC

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday ordered immediate suspension of the officer-in-charge of a police station in Nawada district for allegedly assaulting an old man.

An official release said Kumar asked the SP, Nawada, to immediately put under suspension Gouri Shankar Pandey, officer in-charge of Rapo police station, on charge of assaulting an old man Rashid Khan and misbehaving with him.

Kumar also ordered the district police top brass to initiate departmental proceedings against Pandey, the release said.

According to reports Pandey has already been suspended following the order of Chief Minister.

Kumar has taken the issue of assault and misbehavior with the old man by the police official very seriously.

The complaints against Pandey were also being probed, the release said.
