Nitish Kumar ridicules Lalu on CBI inquiry
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday ridiculed rival RJD chief Lalu Prasad for saying that he was scared of a CBI inquiry into the alleged fraud in development schemes.

was scared of a CBI inquiry into the alleged fraud in
``In fact people laugh whenever Lalu Prasad makes such a
statement,`` Kumar told mediamen when approached.
``Everybody knows why Lalu sees corruption and fraud
everywhere ... Criminals ruled the roost and all pervasive
corruption prevailed when RJD was in power,`` he said claiming
rule of law was in place under the NDA rule which had brought
the much-needed respite for the people.
Prasad had charged that corruption was rampant in all
the development schemes undertaken in the state and Kumar was
facing charges similar to those faced by him when the fodder
scam surfaced in 1996.
Foodgrains meant for providing relief to flood victims
were transported on trucks that bore the registration numbers
of motorcycles in Khagaria in 2007, a case reminiscent of the
Prasad had also said that Kumar was scared of a CBI probe
into the alleged fraud in development schemes and supply of
foodgrains and he had lost the confidence of the people.
On his party leader Virendra Kumar Choudhary joining RJD,
Kumar said ``Lalu feels proud of admitting the rejects of all
parties. Wait for sometime you will find several active
leaders of RJD joining JD(U).``
