Patna: Signaling a break with the past, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a former BJP ally, openly heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his handling of the Pakistan crisis and said that the whole nation is behind him.
This open “sweetener” from Nitish Kumar to PM Modi is definitely going to create some ripples in the political circles.
He said that PM Modi has his "full support in each and every step taken against Pakistan".
"Take whatever action's required against Pakistan. Stop writing love letters (to Islamabad), we as a nation are behind you," NDTV quoted the Bihar CM as saying in a speech in Rajgir.
"Please remember you are the Prime Minister and act as the leader of the nation, not just the BJP," he said.
He lauded the Army and the government for the surgical strikes carried out against terrorists on September 29 in PoK, following the deadly attack in Uri in which 19 soldiers were martyred.
