today ordered immediate arrest of Vaishali district JD-U
General Secretary Sambhu Saran Yadav for alleged barbaric
assault of a youth at a village in Katahara in Bihar`s
Vaishali district.
Director General of Police, Neelmani told PTI tonight
that Chief minister has asked him to ensure immediate arrest
of Yadav.
"The police will also investigate the case in a record
time and file chargesheet to ensure speedy trial," Neelmani
said.
Yadav, husband of a village head, was seen mercilessly
beating a youth with lathis and shoes in public view which was
filmed by television channels this afternoon.
It was alleged that the youth`s family had failed to
repay the amount borrowed by them for some work, the police
sources said.
Television footage also showed the youth was tied in
rope and Yadav beating him.
