Nitish should take moral responsibility for blasts and quit: Paswan

LJP leader Ramvilas Paswan on Monday asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take moral responsibility for the serial blasts in Patna that claimed six lives and "quit on his own".

Patna: LJP leader Ramvilas Paswan on Monday asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take moral responsibility for the serial blasts in Patna that claimed six lives and "quit on his own".

"The serial blasts at Patna have exposed the state government`s failure to provide adequate security for the BJP`s `Hunkar Rally`.....Kumar must accept the responsibility for the incident and quit," Paswan said.

If the Chief Minister "fails" to quit on his own taking moral responsibility for the blasts, the Centre must intervene by sacking his government and impose President`s Rule in Bihar, the LJP leader said.

The state government appears not to have learnt any lesson from the Bodh Gaya blasts three months back and failed to make elaborate security arrangements for the BJP rally, Paswan said.

"Yesterday`s serial blasts are a pointer to the fact that the people are not safe even in the state capital," Paswan said.

He also questioned the Chief Minister`s "seriousness" about ensuring full-proof security for the rally, saying that his "insensitivity towards the safety of the people" has been exposed by his decision to schedule his Munger and Nalanda tour to coincide with the BJP rally.

Paswan later met the injured at the PMCH and enquired about their condition.
