Patna: The RJD on Friday demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JD(U) Spokesman Shivanand Tiwari should undergo "a lie detector test" to verify the allegations that they were beneficiaries of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.

"The CBI should bring Kumar, Tiwari, besides former JD(U) president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan under the ambit of investigation in the fodder scam case in the wake of the recorded statement of D Chandok, a fodder scam accused," leader of opposition in the state Abdul Bari Siddiqui told reporters here.

The RJD leader said all the three, including the CM, must undergo "a lie detector test" and the CBI must take note of the seriousness of the allegations.

"We raised the issue through adjournment notices several times in the state assembly but the Speaker rejected them," he said, adding it was not not good for the "parliamentary democracy."

"Let the Chief Minister clarify as to whether the statements recorded by the fodder scam accused like S B Sinha and D Chandok alleging that the three took illegal gratifications for election purposes are true or false," he said.

Nitish Kumar had already denied the charges of opposition.
