No impact on functioning of Bihar govt after BJP left: Brishen Patel

Bihar Transport Minister, Brishen Patel on Sunday said there was no impact at all on the functioning of the Nitish Kumar-headed Bihar government post-BJP-JD(U) break up in June last.

Jamshedpur: Bihar Transport Minister, Brishen Patel on Sunday said there was no impact at all on the functioning of the Nitish Kumar-headed Bihar government post-BJP-JD(U) break up in June last.

In fact, Kumar-headed state government in Bihar is functioning much better than what it was before June last, Patel, who was in the steel city here to participate in a function, told newsmen.

Rejecting the claims of BJP that Bihar marched on the fast track of development because of BJP, Patel asked if it was so, why BJP, being a national party, has not taken any initiative to ensure Bihar`s progress before JD(U)-BJP coalition government came to power.

Appreciating the Chief Minister`s achieving rapid growth during his tenure, Patel said Bihar, which was being described as backward state, has started getting recognition not only in India but abroad for the good work done by the government.

To a query about possibility of JD(U) forging alliance with Congress in the next election, Patel said his party can join hands with any party but BJP.

Patel, however, said nothing was yet finalized whether JD(U) contest the next election on its own or in alliance.
