Patna: Ruling JD(U) disciplinary committee
has issued notices to around 300 party rebels, including
MPs, MLAs and MLCs for alleged anti-party activities during
recent Assembly polls in Bihar.
"We have issued notices to about 300 party rebels,
including 30 MPs, MLAs and MLCs asking them to explain their
position before the disciplinary committee for their
indulgence in anti-party activities," Committee`s chairman
Gyanendra Singh told.
He said the committee had gone into the complaints
against the rebels for working against the official nominees
of the party before deciding to issue the notices.
"We have asked them to appear individually before the
committee on the dates mentioned in the notices to explain
their position," he said.
Singh confirmed that the names of former JD(U) president
Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan and Rajya Sabha member Upendra
Kushwaha also figured in the list.
"It is unfortunate that there are few party leaders who
acted against the party`s interests despite holding
respectable positions in the party... we are not not going to
tolerate such activities and will take suitable action against
them," state party president Bashishtha Narayan Singh said.
