Security forces have launched joint operations to rescue 15 people abducted by Maoists from Bihar`s Jamui district on Monday.

Jamui: Security forces have launched
joint operations to rescue 15 people abducted by Maoists from
Bihar`s Jamui district on Monday.

"We have engaged the CRPF, Special Task Force and
District Armed police personnel in the operations in the
forests to secure safe release of the abducted persons,
Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Ravindra
Kumar said.

"All those kidnapped by the Maoists are still traceless,"
Kumar said.

Late on Monday night, over 50 Maoists had stormed the
office of a private firm, engaged by Bihar State Bridge
Corporation for construction of a bridge over Bharnar River,
and took them away at gunpoint 15 people, eight labourers,
four employees of a private construction company and three
villagers from Balthar Ghat in Jamui district.
